Ar rahman's facebook update

Ar rahman's facebook update yesterday, "Detroit we are back here again. Many people have been asking me about the selection of songs for the Journey Home world tour. There is a theme to the flow. It's the story of a person's journey of finding his home (India) and experiencing the various flavours of India. We picked the songs to represent these different colours of India. There are six sections to the concert apart from the opening and closing sections that represent different facets of India - Rural India, Freedom movement, Modern India , Romantic India, Spiritual India and Festive India. The freedom movement section includes songs like Bombay Theme, Bharat Humko Jaan Se Pyara Hai (Tamizha) from Roja and Azaadi from Bose that signify India's freedom struggle and the patriotism of its people.Songs like Pappu Can't Dance (Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na), Taxi Taxi (Sakkarakatti) and Liquid Dance (Slumdog Millionaire) represent the zeal and zest of the youthful Modern India. The flavour of folk and rural India is conveyed through Potters Village (Meenaxi), Barso Re (Guru).Hai Rama (Rangeela), Masakkali (Delhi 6) and tracks from the medley Oh Cheliya (Kadhalan/Premikudu), Hosanna (VTV), Ishq Bina (Taal) form the mood of the romantic India. The spiritualism of a multi-religious India is told through Ek Onkar (Rang De Basanti), Khwaja (Jodha Akbar) and O Paalanhare (Lagaan).Ganesh (Bombay Dreams) and Holi Re (Mangal Pandey) celebrate some of the many colourful festivals of India. There are many songs that we found hard to leave out but we have tried to make the best of the short duration we had for the performance.for all those who have thronged the venues over the journey of this tour, thank you for your support All the others, hope you will come to watch us and enjoy the show Love you, God bless.Black and White was my tribute to a legend and friend, MJ, who passed much before his time" as ar rahman updated in his facebook page.

ar rahman's competitor

Ar rahman, in a recent interview to sify while he was in the town for a brief visit in midst of the jai ho world tour in America.. In that, he says about his competitor..

Who according to you is your competition?
"My laziness is my toughest competition. I try to overcome that compulsorily and do something and get satisfaction out of that. And I might just give my 10 per cent, but there is always a question that comes your way and, when that happens, it gives you inspiration to work harder."
