Indian musician A R Rahman is out of this year's Oscar race after his song 'Na Na' from his Hollywood film 'Couple's Retreat' failed to earn a nomination in the 'Best Original Song' category.

Mr. karunanidhi congratulates ar rahman

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today congratulated music maestro A R Rahman for his double triumph at the Grammys, the highest honour in music.

In his telegram to Rahman, the Chief Minister said, "I am extremely happy that you have been rightly chosen for two prestigious Grammy Awards. Tamil Nadu feels proud on this grand occasion of her son getting the highest global awards. I convey my hearty congratulations to you for attaining the top position in music."

Ar rahman wins two grammys for slumdog millionaire

Ar rahman took the top honours at the 52nd annual Grammy awards by winning two grammys for slumdog millionaire.

The maestro got two nominations at the 2010 Grammy Awards. He won the first Grammy for the best compilation soundtrack for a motion picture, the second Grammy for his song “Jai Ho” in the best motion picture song category.

"This is insane, god is great again," Rahman said as he accepted his second award before a VIP audience.

Last year he got two Oscars, bafta and many awards for slumdog millionaire.
