A.R. Rahman's crystal award.

A R Rahman is set to attend the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, where he will receive the Crystal Award for his achievements in the world of art and music from the world economic forum. About 2000 other participants are expect to be present at the meeting which will complement Oscar winner A.R. Rahman. A.R. Rahman will also perform a presentation on his journey through music.

Ar rahman wins BAFTA nomination

Ar rahman has won the BAFTA nomination again. He got the nomination for this prestigious award for his original score in the film 127 hours. Already he had got a BAFTA two years ago for slum dog millionaire..

Academy award winning music director ar rahman won his 26th film fare award at a colourful ceremony at yashraj studios in mumbai. He got this award for Delhi 6. Let his award run continue....!

Indian musician A R Rahman is out of this year's Oscar race after his song 'Na Na' from his Hollywood film 'Couple's Retreat' failed to earn a nomination in the 'Best Original Song' category.

Ar rahman wins two grammys for slumdog millionaire

Ar rahman took the top honours at the 52nd annual Grammy awards by winning two grammys for slumdog millionaire.

The maestro got two nominations at the 2010 Grammy Awards. He won the first Grammy for the best compilation soundtrack for a motion picture, the second Grammy for his song “Jai Ho” in the best motion picture song category.

"This is insane, god is great again," Rahman said as he accepted his second award before a VIP audience.

Last year he got two Oscars, bafta and many awards for slumdog millionaire.

The International Film Music Critics Association announces its list of excellence in musical scoring for 2009. Ar rahman have received nomination for the award of best composer for a comedy film for his stint in Hollywood comedy film couples retreat. Couples retreat is his first holly wood film after his academy award winning slum dog millionaire. He is also shortlisted for Oscars this year for his original score in couples retreat.

Ar rahman to get padma bhushan

Year 2010 starts well for ar rahman. Academy award winner for slum dog millionaire ar rahman is all set to receive padma bhushan, country's third highest civilian honour. Ar rahman is awarded along with bolly wood super star amir khan. Ar rahman has already got padma shri, country's fourth highest civilian award.

Ar rahman is the CNN IBN indian of the year

Ar rahman was conferred the indian of the year title by ourr prime minister mr. manmohan singh at a function at New delhi. Ar rahman beat his competitors like rahul gandhi, saina nehwal to get this title.
Prime minister praised Ar rahman for his acheivements and said his works were inspirational. 
“Rahman’s music is inspirational... When I heard Rahman in the White House, you cannot imagine the sense of joy and achievement...,” Dr. Singh said, conferring the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year award on the Oscar-winning music director. 
Ar rahman was also conferred the best entertainer of the year award. He said that lessening the divides is his intention. As usual he attributed his victory and glory to god by saying , ' எல்லா புகழும் இறைவனுக்கே ' .
The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar.
