The International Film Music Critics Association announces its list of excellence in musical scoring for 2009. Ar rahman have received nomination for the award of best composer for a comedy film for his stint in Hollywood comedy film couples retreat. Couples retreat is his first holly wood film after his academy award winning slum dog millionaire. He is also shortlisted for Oscars this year for his original score in couples retreat.

Ar rahman not confident of grabbing grammys..........?

Academy award winner ar rahman is seems not bothered with Grammy awards which is scheduled to take place at Los angels this Sunday. “I may not even go for the Grammys,” said Rahman in an exclusive chat with HT City.he added “I have a few work commitments, so (I am) not even thinking about the Grammy Awards,”.

Though you lose hope, we can't. We are sure that Grammy will also be yours this Sunday.

Ar rahman meets chief minister mr. karunanidhi.

Music hurricane ar rahman met chief minister mr. karunanidhi at his residence in chennai yesterday. He had just got his name in the padma bhushan award list released earlier this week ( refer that here arr padma bhushan). It is said that he discussed with the chief minister about the song he is writing for world tamil conference for which ar rahman is composing music (see here- arr wtc).

Then ar rahman briefed chief minister about his grammy nomination “I will be leaving for Los Angeles tonight to take part in Grammy proceedings,” he said. Mr. karunanidhi greeted him to bring the glory again.

Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin, Karunanidhi’s wife Rajathi Ammal, daughter and Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi and Sun Television Network chairman Kalanithi Maran were present during the meeting.
