Ar has been nominated again for golden globe awards for this year 2010. Ar rahman is nominated for his original score in the film 127 hours directed by Danny boyle.
Ar rahman's reaction to the golden globe nomination:
"It's been a very stressful year with touring and personal problems like my daughter having surgery and then doing the score," Rahman said. "It's definitely a relief to get this nomination. I will enjoy it today."

National integration award for ar rahman

A R Rahman has been chosen for the Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration for the year 2009.
Rahman shares the award with Narainpur Ashram branch of Ramkrishna Mission in Chhattisgarh for their services in promoting and preserving national integration in the country, a release from AICC said.
This year the award consists of a citation and cash of Rs 2.5 lakh each. Congress President Sonia Gandhi will present it to both the winners on October 31 here, the death anniversary of Indira Gandhi.

Endhiran is now released in arab countries and fans are surprised and awe struck by superstar's action and shankar's wit. It's the story of a person's journey of finding his home (India) and experiencing the various flavours of India. Ar rahman concert in south africa

Oscar winner ar rahman will be continuing  african leg of the jai ho world tour with a concert later this year. The concert will be for celebrating the 150th year of the arrivals of Indians to the rainbow nation. He will be organising a concert in moses mahbida stadium in durban

Currently he is busy with european leg of the jai ho world tour. Later this year, after european leg, a specially designed jai ho world tour will kick off in Africa. Sam Hendrikse, chief executive of Hunta Live, who are bringing Rahman to the country, said that he was an amazing entertainer who fused Hollywood and Bollywood.
"Most importantly, it is 150 years since Indians arrived in South Africa, and Rahman was very keen to coincide his tour with the celebrations." He said the event would be a "natural fit for us, especially as we celebrate 150 years of the arrival of Indians in SA". Rahman will perform at Sun City Superbowl on November 20 before moving to Grand West in Cape Town on November 24 and Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on November 26.

I had privilege to hear jhootha hi sahi songs in internet, i'm planning to get cd's by evening. I don't wanna impose on anyone to buy original, i just request you to hear songs atleast  one time. That will make you buy the songs. This is almost his 5th straight album release in this year and the songs are astonishingly fresh and rocking.
Rashid ali scores well in call me dil and cry cry. I swear you cannot find that chinmayi is singing mayya yeshoda. Some voice modulations have worked good. No comments for shreya ghoshal there in pam paraa.
Overall the album looks good and fresh. Jhootha hi sahi is a typical ar rahman  album. Don't miss it.

This is part of the jai ho world tour in UK. Ar rahman is performing a modified version of zikr from bose and my all time favorite khwaja mere khwaja. But i must regret for the quality of this video. Please reduce the sound because the audio and video quality of this youtube video is little bad......

Jhootha Hi Sahi songs

The songs of jhootha hi sahi is all ready and the film will hit the screens on october 15. The songs are expected to hit markets by the end of this month. The film originally had seven songs but ar rahman felt the need for another two songs while watching the movie and composed them.. Also he is said to have felt the need for a title song in the film and have composed that amidst busy schedules in London. The song was finalised over the internet as reports say. Abbas tyrewalla was all in praise for Mozart of the east, Mr. ar rahman for his perfection and commitment to his work. Mantena confirms the addition of songs as: “We had recorded eight songs but no title track. Rahman insisted we had to have one and reasoned that it could play in the background just before the climax, so we didn’t need to picturise it. To save time, Abbas suggested he give us only one ‘antara’ (stanza) but Rahman came up with a complete song.”

Ar rahman's CWG theme

After the theme was released many politicians showed displeasure over the song..Some working committee members also didn't like the song. Earlier the song was played before the working committee and they all finalised the song, If they liked at that time why they dislike now..? Main dish is not ready but they are fighting for the side dish.....!!! The CWG games is accused with corruption charges, infrastructural delays, e.t.c......They are trying to deflect the public attention from that angle....

First of all comparing ar rahman to shakira is wrong..We praise a alien copy cat and criticise a fellow Indian who took India to many big stages...

The theme song has three version in which one will be sung by Indian team in the commonwealth meet. Another version will be used for promoting the event in medias. The song which was played to the ministers and was eventually approved by the council of ministers. Mr. kalmadi and mr. Gill ( Indian sports ministe ) had even praised ar rahman for coming up with such great tunes. The theme song will be called as "swagatham".

“GoM has finalized the theme song. A.R. Rahman will give final touches and it will be presented before the people in 10 days,” union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy told reporters after the two-hour long GoM meeting in Nirman Bhawan.
“The theme song will be the last song of the opening ceremony,” Reddy told IANS, answering a specific question.
An official of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee said the song would be previewed at 9.45 a.m. Monday.
“The GoM has finalised the theme song. A preview will be held at 9.45 a.m. tomorrow (Monday) at the banquet hall of the Ashoka Hotel,” the official said.

Vinnai thandi varuvaya unreleased tracks

Unreleased tracks from the tamil movie vinnai thandi varuvaya will be released soon as individual album. The music of the movie was scored by academy award winning music director mr. ar rahman. The audio rights of the movie vests with sony music India. This will be in two versions namely Tamil version and telugu version. The albums will be available in CD, DVD's and I tunes. The album may also be released in europe And is expected to hit Indian markets by this month end....

The function is said to be organised in malaysia. the function will be telecasted live in all tamil channels in malaysia. However We ( chennai audience ) cannot expect in our screens on july 31.
Anyway the function will be telecasted in Indian channels on August 15th.

It is also said that the function to be organised on july 31 will be just a songs preview function as endhiran film s expected ti be screened in13 countries. 2011 cricket world cup theme song by ar rahman!

The latest buzz around BCCI is that as one of the hosting member of 2011 cricket world cup, BCCI is gonna nominate ar rahman's name for composing music for tournament's theme song with a video. BCCI is the most powerful member of International Cricket Council and they are going to start this process in a executive committee meeting scheduled on next month. A big amount is hoped to be offered for this deal.

that he is going to remake the hindi movie 3 idiots in tamil and
telugu.He also said that actors siddharth and jeeva are going to do

for the third role.Meanwhile there are reports suggesting that maestro
Ar rahman is most likely to score the music for the film as he is a
favourite with director shankar.if everything gets finalised then we

Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikalam songs -next for ar rahman

What a year this has been. Ar rahman's fifth album in this year would be chennaiyil oru mazhaikaalam. This Film is written and directed by mr. goutham menon with trisha and some debutants in lead roles. There was a rumor that the film's music score was not done by ar rahman. But some latest release have confirmed that the music of the film chennaiyil oru mazhaikaalam is done by academy award winner ar rahman. The music can be expected to hit the stores by mid august. Also in line for ar rahman is manavar dhinam. It was expected to be released in may but due to time constraints, the manavar dhinam music release got postponed to a unspecified period later this year.

Ar rahman european tour's new dates

Ar rahman regrets for postponing the dates of his european tour. Due to some circumstances which he terms as beyond his control has made this postponement. He said this in his facebook update as follows:

"Regrettably, we are having to postpone part of the current European tour. The shows that were due to take place in Zurich on July 16th, Paris July 17th and Mannheim on July 18th have had to be postponed due to circumstances beyond our control.The elaborate production and set design includes custom state of the art equipment and staging. After four highly successful concerts, the tour was derailed by a serious accident in Detroit (US), where part of the stage infrastructure collapsed, destroying most of the staging, lighting and musical instruments. The shows in North America have been rescheduled for September.I regret the inconvenience this causes and apologize to my fans and all those who have contributed to the tour. The shows will be rescheduled as soon as possible. In my 15 years of doing concerts I have always put my fans first. The accident in Detroit has had a profound effect on all of us. The band, dancers and crew and I are all highly disappointed, but it is the fans to whom I send the most heartfelt apology.The tour resumes on July 23rd in Birmingham and will play as scheduled in London on the 24th and 25th"

The Background score of the bilingual blockbuster is almost over and awaits final touches.The shooting of the much awaited film Endhiran(The Robot) starring Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai is almost over and sources reveal that one song may be re-shooted for some reasons .Meanwhile a copy of the film has been sent to Ar rahman for the completion of BGM. It is to be noted that the academy award winner Resul Pookutty is doing the special sound effects for the film. A master copy of the endhiran film music album was sent to Mr. shankar . Hearing to that, he was thrilled which he disclosed in his own blog. Meanwhile the songs of endhiran are expected to hit the markets by 31st july...

Ar rahman is again in the line to entertain your ears. Komaram puli music will be released on july 11th in hyderabad with tollywood personalities. Ar rahman is now on london, to be a part of europe wing of jai ho tour. But he's gonna make it to hyderabad to  be a part in the komaram puli songs release function. The function is to be held at hyderabad international convention centre. Be ready to be thrilled by ar rahman's magic. This is ar rahman's third straight music album to be released in India this year..
The next will be endhiran songs...keep your fingers crossed...

"My laziness is my toughest competition. I try to overcome that compulsorily and do something and get satisfaction out of that. And I might just give my 10 per cent, but there is always a question that comes your way and, when that happens, it gives you inspiration to work harder."
