Ar rahman's simplicity, say's he is no sachin tendulkar

Even though he is a world wide celebrity he maintains his much loved simplicity and still wants to be unknown. In a recent interview he has expressed his view about sachin tendulkar and his views about his oscar nominations and his hope of winning the same. He said,"I'm no Sachin Tendulkar. Whenever he takes the field, people expect him to score a century. I will try my best to live upto fans' expectations, but it's not possible to get an Oscar always."

The competition is tough this year. "We have seen some outstanding work last year and many great artists are in the list. Anyone can win this award," said Rahman, "so if I see a new person win the Oscar this time, I will be happy. Awards should act as an encouragement to new talent. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing the industry getting flooded with great talent who make things exciting."

A.R. Rahman's crystal award.

A R Rahman is set to attend the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, where he will receive the Crystal Award for his achievements in the world of art and music from the world economic forum. About 2000 other participants are expect to be present at the meeting which will complement Oscar winner A.R. Rahman. A.R. Rahman will also perform a presentation on his journey through music.

After north america, europe and south africa, The jai ho world tour journey home is to be resumed at singapore.Organised by Marina Bay Sands with Base Entertainment here, the four-night gala will be held at the 2,155-seater Marina Bay Sands Grand Theater March 17-20 for which Rahman has teamed up with creative director Amy Tinkham, best known for stage collaborations with Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys and Mariah Carey.

"A.R. Rahman has proved to the world that the Indian entertainment industry has come of age when he took home Academy and Grammy awards. A beautiful music video by ar rahman. In changing season, he has used udd jaa re song from his bollywood hit raavan. Maniratnam and madras talkies have also been credited in this video for the video version of the song. Ar rahman also appears in the video.

Ar rahman wins BAFTA nomination

Ar rahman has won the BAFTA nomination again. He got the nomination for this prestigious award for his original score in the film 127 hours. Already he had got a BAFTA two years ago for slum dog millionaire..

My first dream machine

Ar rahman posted in his facebook about his first dream machine as, "It was a National Panasonic NV380 video player, back in 1986.

It was a window to the blitz and glitz of Hollywood... Love and romance, horror, action and thrillers... and art movies. From several thousand miles away...

It showed me the charming Kings and Queens of LA-land; it showed me the technical excellence of the directors and cameramen.

It made me hear the haunting themes of John Williams and Ennio Morricone.

Last night, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro were honored at the Golden Globes... I was 3 meters away... :-) The distance has reduced so much...

Enough admiration, already! I feel there is so much to contribute now... "

Ar rahman in animation film

Ar rahman is set to work in a animation film with Lyricist Stephen Schwartz along with writers Gurinder Chadha and Paul Berges. This is a new musical animated feature film, Monkeys of Bollywood for DreamWorks Animation.

The movie is inspired by the Indian tale of The Ramayana and tells the story of two monkeys who become unlikely heroes in a last ditch effort to stop an ancient, thought-to-be-mythical demon from conquering the world. Talent for the project will be announced at a later date.
